Cory Boyd
Cory was born and raised in San Rafael, California.  A three-sport athlete
through high school (Football, Wrestling, Track and Field), Cory went on to
play football at the College of Marin and Southern Oregon University.  He has
been coaching one sport or another since he was 19 years old.  Cory is
currently an assistant high school football coach and enjoys the challenges
and rewards of working with young athletes.
Cory discovered CrossFit in April, 2008.  Inspired by the effectiveness and
science behind the CrossFit methodology, he has been passionately pursuing
it, both as an athlete and a coach, ever since.  He loves that CrossFit attracts
"good, earnest, and hardworking people."
Cory's favorite aspect of coaching is watching athletes develop over time,
through dedication, hard work, and consistency of training.  He is an inspired
competitor in his own right, always up for a local throw-down or a chance to
cheer on his fellow gym members in competitions.
Cory became a credentialed P.E./Health Science Teacher in July, 2008. He earned his Level 1 Certification in June,
2009 and his CrossFit Football Certification in 2010.  He splits his time between teaching middle school PE and
coaching CrossFit.
